Debra Stracke Anderson CCIM, SIOR is president and CEO of Sloan Street Advisors, Inc., an international commercial real estate firm based in the Washington, D.C. area. The company exclusively represents corporate tenants and buyers in their real estate matters, with a clientele ranging from entrepreneurial entities to Fortune 500 companies, such as NASA, Sysco Corporation, Girne American University, Toole Design Group, and many more.

Ms. Anderson founded the firm in 2000 following a nearly 20 year career as an executive with regional and international commercial real estate organizations, including tenures as Regional Managing Director of Asset Services for Insignia/ESG; Regional Vice President of Leasing for COMPASS Management and Leasing; and Director of Commercial Leasing for Gates, Hudson & Associates, Inc. She led teams in winning such awards as “Top National Leasing Team” and in achieving 95% portfolio occupancy during a significant market downturn. As importantly, Ms. Anderson’s many previous years of experience representing landlords on the other side of the table has afforded today’s corporate clients a significant advantage during negotiations for office, industrial and retail facilities.

Ms. Anderson is a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Real Estate (SIOR) and has earned the SIOR designation, based on transactional volume, for which only a small percentage of professionals have qualified. She is also a Certified Commercial Investment Member of the CCIM Institute, where she earned the CCIM designation, denoting a graduate level education in the field of commercial real estate. She is a frequent author on industry matters for various business publications and is a two-time nominee for the “Women Who Mean Business” award conferred by the Washington Business Journal. Ms. Anderson was selected by the Washington Business Journal and the Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Journal as one of the “Best of 2010” in the category of largest office lease transactions and as “Best of 2011” in other categories.

Ms. Anderson has served on the board of directors for industry organizations and for nonprofits that work to improve the lives of at-risk children, such as Stop Child Abuse Now (www.scanva.org) and Programs for Youth (www.programsforyouth.org).
